Hi, I’m Lucy — the founder of The Textile Room.

I am an experienced Textiles & Design teacher and HSC Marker with a passion for helping students develop creative confidence and practical skills in textile design.

Over the years, I have guided many students through the HSC Major Textiles Project, supporting them as they develop their ideas, experiment with materials, and bring their designs to life. I understand how challenging the project can feel — balancing research, folio writing, experimentation, and construction — and I enjoy helping students break the process into manageable steps.

My mentoring sessions are designed to give students:

• Clear direction for their project
• Support with design development and experimentation
• Guidance with folio writing and documentation
• Confidence in their practical textile skills

In addition to HSC mentoring, I also offer beginner sewing lessons for students who want to learn how to sew, build practical skills, and explore their creativity.

At The Textile Room, my goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel encouraged, organised, and inspired to do their best work.
