Hi, I’m Lucy — the founder of The Textile Room.

I am an experienced Textiles & Design teacher, HSC Marker, and qualified Interior Decorator with a passion for textiles, creativity, and thoughtful design.

Textile Education

Through The Textile Room, I offer HSC Textiles mentoring and beginner sewing lessons designed to help students build confidence, develop practical skills, and enjoy the creative process.

With extensive experience supporting students through the HSC Major Textiles Project, I provide guidance with project development, experimentation, folio writing, and practical construction in a supportive and encouraging environment.

Textile Consulting & Styling

Alongside education, The Textile Room also offers textile consulting and styling services for interiors. Combining my background in textiles with a Cert IV in Interior Decorating, I help clients source and coordinate fabrics, soft furnishings, and textile finishes for residential spaces.

Services include fabric sourcing, upholstery and soft furnishing selections, textile styling, and curated interior mood boards focused on creating functional, timeless, and beautifully layered spaces.

At The Textile Room, my goal is to combine technical textile knowledge with creativity and thoughtful design — whether supporting students in their learning or helping clients bring warmth and personality into their homes through textiles.
